George F.F. Lombard was born in 1911. He received a BA from Harvard College (1933), and MBA (1935) and PhD in Commercial Science (1942) from Harvard Business School. Lombard started his professional career at HBS as Assistant Dean in 1936. He served in this position until 1940 when he joined the faculty as Instructor in Industrial Research.
